When, Where and How I Got My Staffordshire Bull Terrier
My husband & I purchased Rocky when he was 6 weeks old from a friend of a friend whose dog had just had a liter.
I'd Describe My Dog As…
Rocky is a big baby. He & my other bullie Adrienne are afraid and run from a Pomeranian that lives across the street. I raised them like my babies so as to not have an aggressive dog. They can be rough with each other at times, but are just playing around and nothing has ever gotten out of hand. Rocky was very easy to train, I only rubbed his nose in his mess once when he was a puppy and gave him a light spank on the rear and I've never had a problem with him since. He is very healthy, he just has a blood clot dificiency. Rocky follows me to every single room, he waits for me right outside of the tub when I shower and all; which can get irritating, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love Rocky like a child!
Advice
- I have many friends with kids and they are great with kids. I never leave them alone of course. My only thing I have trouble with is they jump up on people because they get too excited. So I do have to watch that with kids... once the new people have been around for a few minutes the hype slows down and then I let the kids play with them. Once, my friend's little girl rode him like a horse. It was priceless!
