When, Where and How I Got My Siberian Husky
We bought Demo as a puppy. My husband and I purchased our dog from a local family. My husband and I LOVE our Snow Dog because he is handsome & beautiful and he doesn't bark! Demo sheds and sheds... in the summer. We bought a brush called the FURminator that saved us. We brush him 3 times a week. Demo is a very,very clean dog. We do not bathe him! He keeps his white and black coat super clean. AMAZING! Demo talks and sniffs at us a lot, NOT A LICKER! They are NOT loyal or obedient. They think they are human and like humans (it's their world and they love you in it).
I'd Describe My Dog As…
COOL... Well like most dogs their personalities are much like their owners. =) So, Demo is super ornery, goofy, fun-loving, friendly and playful. He loves to be chased and play hide and seek, he is laid back and requires naps. He's an explorer (take on lots of walks/runs), a swimmer (loves water - buy small kids pool so they can keep cool), love air-conditioning, wants to be part of your pack (indoor and outdoor dog). He loves to be wherever you are, loves to ride in the car, very vocal, HAIRY, super clean, sniffer (cold nose), loves to hug, will let you lay on him when he's napping. He's a chewer (buy stock in bones) and a puller. Buy lots of rope and a harness - he will pull you on a kid sled up and down the road in the winter time! =)
NOTE: Dog is made for winter weather, however, our dog sleeps indoors at night, during winter and outside during summer. During the day, in winter months, prefers to be outside, but in summer loves to be inside during the day. He is a COOL Dog!
Advice
- Great dog for children 5 and older
- Buy a FURminator
- Get a kennel (for summer months - put in your basement or air-conditioned room) and put dog in while you are out.
- Also get dog bones, rope, harness (for pulling), small kids swimming pool in HOT weather.
