When, Where and How I Got My Siberian Husky
Angels came to us via a local animal shelter. (Back in 2005) she arrived that morning and we show up that afternoon. We were looking at the puppies when my husband came across her. She was sitting by kennel door with a smile on her face and her tail going a mile a minute. It was love at first sight with her(we took home that day).
Snowie I found running down the middle of my street dodge cars. I did my best to catch her and brought her home. Were at first we didn't know how well she was going to take to my other two dogs. But it was like she belonged with us.
I'd Describe My Dog As…
Angel is a quite laid back husky. Nothing like what a husky is supposed to be like. She rarely talks and does not try to jump my back fence. She very lovable and loves to give kisses. She watches over my other husky and pit mix. She enjoys laying out in the back yard and watching the squirrels. Her favorite things is when we go for a walk at the park. She just can't get enough of that. Seh can be picky when it come to her food. Some days she will go to town and others she will eat a little. She does not like water is always a chore to giver her a bath
Snowie on the other hand is the oppsite she is very vocale and loves to talk. She always has to have the last word. We have taught her to say mama, I lover you and her favorite is no. She is my special need puppy. She suffers from Seizures and is allergic to any grain so it is a chore to make sure she gets the right kind of food. But this poor puppy has had such a hard start. When I found her she was just 8months old and very under weight (I mean in the twenty five pounds). She was not fixed so I made sure that she got spayed and had her shots. When she is not sleepy due to her meds she is very energetic. She will give my pix mix a run for his money. She is also what we call a counter surfer she is forever trying to get what ever she can get her mouth on. We have a saying Snowie will eating anything that don't eat her first.
But over all my two girls are the sweetest of dogs I have had the honor of owning. They would rather cover you in kisses and snuggle with then to do anything else.
Advice
- First thing is to do your homework. Huskies take a lot of responsibility. They require a lot of attention. If your house is not set up for a husky they will easily get out. That is just their nature.
- And you have a problem with dog fur everywhere then you should pass on by the husky because huskies shed 2 times a year and they shed a lot.
- As for being a good pet for a family with small childern. That just depends on the husky. Some huskies have a high level of energy and can be a little over powering for small kids. And others can be as gentle as a teddy bear. My advise would be to visit with the husky
