When, Where and How I Got My Shih Tzu
We were in NC and decided we wanted a puppy for our anniversary. We purchased her from a breeder who told us she would be small. She is an amazing dog, housebroke at 8 weeks. Loves all visitors, esp. little ones. She's my velcro dog, always wants to be with me, great companion. We spell our conversations since she understands everything, but she understands the spelling too. Loves us completely. Loves attention and trains so easily.
I'd Describe My Dog As…
Daisy Mae has the sweetest personality. Knows when you're happy and when you're not and reacts accordingly. She was extremely easy to housebreak, she trained at 8 weeks. She has had severe kidney stones which resulted in surgery to remove them. Other than that, she's extremely healthy. Loves to eat, we call her our "eating machine," so we watch her diet to control her weight. She's little so we expected a "yip" bark and got a shih tzu with a "rottweiler" bark, she's that loud. Fun, fun dog, will do anything to make you laugh.
Advice
For a wonderful family dog, get a Shih Tzu, you'll never regret it. We have close young friends with little boys, when they come to visit, Daisy Mae looks forward to playing with them. They loved her so much, they recently purchased a female Shih Tzu for themselves.
