When, Where and How I Got My Saint Bernard
Amber is my third St. She came into my life as a gift from an ex-girlfriend. When she entered my life, I picked her up, and she marked me the moment we meet. We have not been apart since, as she is the most loving, caring little girl in the world. Alas 130 pounds.
I'd Describe My Dog As…
Loving, caring, gentle, happy, easygoing. She is in every sense of the word, truly a SAINT. Amber loves to go for rides in the car, she even likes the vet. She is excellent with children as they run up to her. She will stand very still and is very gentle to the point of letting them be rough with her, but when she has had enough she will gently walk away. She loves the cat and they play together often. She almost never barks, she has never shown her teeth, and is so gentle that when startled she runs away, so I will protect her.
Advice
- They shed a lot, they shed a lot, they shed a lot, and drool a little, so think about that before getting your gentle giant.
- Also consider that even as a puppy they are strong and will be able to knock things over as puppies, even though it will be an accident.
- Other than that they are the greatest dogs in the world, and I will always own one.
