When, Where and How I Got My Rhodesian Ridgeback
I got Kai at 8 weeks from a breeder in Liverpool! I didn't want a show dog, he only had one crown so that didn't bother me or him.
I'd Describe My Dog As…
The best most loyal friend I ever had. He was easy to train, he only messed in the house once or twice the whole time I had him and it was when he was a pup. I think he thought he was a person - he would reverse his bum up on to my knee and sit there quite happily ofter falling asleep like that. He loved sticking his head out of the car window and if I didn't open it fast enough for him, he would give me an inpatient stare, LOL. He loved his toys, was so smart you could name a toy (chicken, duck, elephant, ball, monkey) and he would come back with the right one. He was very well mannered, would sit for his food and take it so gently. Would never beg, but would be up like a shot as soon as you'd finished. Loved lazy days in and active days out. People were often wary of him because of his size but after meeting him everyone loved him. Even my mums neighbour would acknowledge and pet him and she was terrified of dogs, still is, he was the exception! He hated a muzzle as it signified going to the vet, I think he was traumatized from the vet putting the thermometer you know where!!!|He also hated getting his ears cleaned and it was a mission and a half to say the least!!
Advice
- I would never own any other breed of dog, these are not like other dogs, they are the best breed you could ever own but only if you have time to give them exercise, attention and plenty of love and you must be the pack leader otherwise they will take over!
