When, Where and How I Got My Miniature Schnauzer
He was born on my birthday to my beauty operator's dog. In western Nebraska, his mother is a registered Med. Schnauzer and his father is a mix of Schnauzer and Terrier. Now he is anything but miniature, we always say it is because he was eating his big brother's food (German Shepherd) that was puppy food for large breeds not for small dogs. He is now a whopping #50 but he can out run his big brother.
I'd Describe My Dog As…
Quite vocal, he likes to talk to everyone and everything he thinks is outside, he has a stay away voice for the nasties outside, but then he has a talking voice for the nice things. When grandma comes he dances around and tells you she is there. Babies (smaller dogs) are something else he uses his talking voice for, he uses it for people he knows, or the neighbor dogs that he likes and the nasty one for the bad dogs. He loves to play with his brother they run and play, roll around and tease each other. When his brother is sleeping he has gone and sat on his head. Most of the time they sleep next to each other back to back, or he will steal his brother's bed and then the other will have to sleep on the floor. He is smitten with our neice's Miniature Schnauzer. She is pure white and all he can do is follow her everywhere.
Lessons Learned
- He knows who is good and who is a nasty person, like one of our neighbors who has mean dogs and puts glass outside of his fence in the alley that faces us. Whenever he drives through or home Charlie lets us know he is out there. he talks to other people but he has a nasty bark for that neighbor.
