In a Word, My Doberman Is…

Best Characteristics of the Breed

Loyalty, devotion, bonds one on one

Most Challenging Characteristics of the Breed

Smart - figures out how to "do" things, loves to please

When, Where and How I Got My Doberman Pinscher

I rescued and adopted her 3 years ago. She weighed only 49 pounds and she was obviously mistreated. I have had her 3 plus years now and she has acclimated well here with me on 7 acres in the Florida woods. We are inseparable and she is a lover, though she has lost her bark?? I am thankful for her. She is my third one.

I'd Describe My Dog As…

Drop dead gorgeous, fiercely attentive to me, watches every move I make and loves to be with me in any room I am in. She loves her beds that I have for her, her bones that I stuff with treats - all in all we only need one another, and there is no room for anyone else in our life here in these glorious woods. She is just what a woman my age needs in my aging years!

Advice

  • Great protector for lady
  • I have had both male and female Dobies - the male will wander, female is a homebody
