When, Where and How I Got My Border Collie:
I got Bella in May 2008, only 1 month after my other BC, Codee, passed away. I am glad I got Bella, she saved me from a deep depression, due to the loss of Codee.
Bella was 8 weeks old, when I brought her home. I did buy her from a breeder. The breeder gave her to me at a very low price, due to me losing Codee.
I had my choice of 5 boys or 2 girls. I wanted another girl. Bella picked me though. Her sister was very quiet and shy. Bella put her paws around my neck and started licking me! lol
I am very glad she has come into my life!
I'd Describe My Dog As…
Bella was so easy to housebreak. It took me a week. She was crated, when I wasn't home and she behaved herself real well.
Bella's got a sweet personality. She is shy, but is friendly. She learns very easily. She can pick out toys by name, knows a lot of words and their meanings, and very alert to her surroundings. Oh, yeah, she is very fast on her feet! lol
She can go 0 to 90 in 3 seconds! LOL
Bella has no medical conditions and I pray she won't in the future.
Advice
- They are good with kids. They might herd them and protect them, so it's a good thing.
- They get along with other animals, like dogs and cats.
- They love sports! Bella loves Frisbee!
- They like to please their owner. Bella looks at me, trying to understand what I want. And, she does eventually figure it out quickly.
- They need exercise and make it fun! Bella loves the dog parks!
