When, Where and How I Got My Bichon Frise

My Bichon, Patsy was killed in a freak accident 1 day. Being an animal communicator, everyone tried to give me a replacement. I was called in to find a lost Bichon, and found the dog killed by a coyote. That experience made me realize I truly wanted another Bichon, and I called BichonFurKids. They approved me, and that weekend I drove to San Diego and met my dogs. I wanted another girl, and the only girls they had available at the time were in a bonded pair. After having a dog die suddenly, I thought having a "spare" seemed like a great idea.

I'd Describe My Dog As…

Gracy & Lucy are amazing. They have 2 very distinct personalities, and now ARE a bonded pair. Gracy likes to hunt pack rats, & is the envy of the neighborhood, having killed 35. I know this because every time she catches one, Lucy barks saying "give me the rat!!!". Gracy is my guard dog, quick to learn, loving to please. Lucy is smaller, only 14 pounds, so she is easy to pick up and carry. Lucy is my "dentist dog" (i am so scared at the dentist that he allows me to bring a dog in with me because the dog helps me relax). Lucy follows Gracy everywhere, so she doesn't have to think where she is going, or if she wants to go. Lucy scoots on her butt when nervous, which used to lead me into a story about how she was kicked in the butt by her former humans. Now, I do not bring it up anymore, because I know that by retelling the story I am MAKING it her story, and anchoring the abuse that needs to just be forgotten into the present time.

Lucy howls at the coyotes at night. Coyotes have jumped the fence & grabbed Lucy twice, she has a crush on them that I can only compare to the "vampire" stories on the silver screen. Lucy sleeps on my pillow at night, allowing me to hold her until I fall asleep. Gracy sleeps at the foot of the bed, guarding us from whatever may come thru the door. Gracy loves to stand with her head out the window when I drive, loving the air on her face, her eyes closed, a doggie smile on her face. Lucy will sit on my lap, and stick her nose out the window by 3-4 inches, enjoying the breeze as much as Gracy, yet secure by the fact that I have my arm around her waist. They are both excited about life, loving to the extreme, gentle, vibrant and my very best friends.

Advice

  • The most powerful thing I do as an animal communicator is clear the energy on the dogs that come from shelters or have a past that has not been the most loving. Dogs will move totally into present time and drop the fear & energy from the past. We each have the choice to move into present time each moment in our lives, to choose love or fear. Dogs are incredible at this, and they drop their "story" of who they were and become who you want them to be in the present moment. Also, do not keep reinforcing the bad past by stating the "story" of who the dog is.
  • Have patience, love & kindness.
