My best friend said my dog looked like an ottoman. Then my vet said he was too heavy.
How My Dog Shed the Pounds
I had to cut back on his food. I was feeding him 1 cup in the morning and one cup in the evening. He always finished it. Our family is not one to always be giving him treats, so that wasn't the problem. I cut down his food to vet recommended 1/2 c morning and 1/2 cup pm. His weight wasn't making much change. I've cut back to 1/3c am and pm. Now his weight loss is finally showing. It does a body good to follow your vet's instructions as to weight rather than the bag or can of dog food instructions. Each dog is different.
Tips and Tricks
I actually use a measuring cup to portion out his food. That way the scoop doesn't get bigger as time goes on.
