About My Dog's Seizures
We have rescued Cuda 3 months ago and after having him for two weeks he had two seizures in one day, I was terrified for him. It seemed to be every two weeks he was having 1 - 4 seizures in one day, they all lasted about 2 minutes long, then one day came where he had 8 seizures (still lasting approximately same time) I called the vet and now the vet is going through everything. When Cuda came home later that night he had two more. The seizures were very severe in my eyes. We just made sure that there was nothing that his head would hit while seizing, I know this should also be done for humans. I want to help him more!
My Dog's Diagnosis and Treatment
The vet has taken Cuda's blood & nothing has shown up in his blood, that is all we have done so far since we are still in the beginning of trying to find out what is wrong with our 1 year old rescue puppy. He is taking Phenobarbital & some liquid every morning & every night. He seems to be very disoriented & pacing around, he's not sure where things are (walls/doors/tables/chairs) he is bumping into them. The vet has reassured me that his head is fine with no damage. That made me ecstatic. I need more help or opinion's for our pup Cuda. We want to enjoy his life A LOT longer
Advice
- I have always owned dogs. Collie's, Border Collie's, Great Dane's ( 16 at one time), Labs, etc... I have NEVER experienced seizure's with a dog, so I am wanting to know everything possible to help our beautiful pup. The only thing that I have learned so far is to move anything & everything out of his head way while he is having a seizure & I am constantly watching him & do NOT want to go to the grocery store. When he moves at night time I jump up to see if he is OK.
