About My Dog's Seizures
Budha's first seizure was at 10 weeks old. All four of the dogs were dozing when all of a sudden, two of them popped up. A couple of seconds later, Budha sat up with a funny look in his eyes and then went into a grand mal seizure. It lasted a couple of minutes. As soon as the convulsing stopped, I raced to the vet. I was talking to the vet 15 minutes later. By this time he was normal. She said it might be a one time thing. WRONG! The next time was 26 days later. This one lasted longer and it took longer to come out of. I went back to the vet and they did blood work. They found nothing wrong.
My Dog's Diagnosis and Treatment
They had never seen seizures this young. Unless they come more often or last longer, they say to talk to him and soothe him during the seizure. Medication at this stage could harm his kidneys or liver. I'm hoping maybe he will outgrow them. If not we will just love him the way he is.
Advice
Stay calm. Talk to your pet and stroke them if possible. It seems to be reassuring when they come out of it.
