About My Adopted Dog

I found what appeared to be a sweet dog at our local pound. Pablo came with kennel cough and fleas both of which were passed on to my dog Gizmo. The vet bills amounted to $250, it cost me $170 to get Pablo from the pound. Pablo bit 6 people in the two weeks I had him. I was heartsick, but I couldn't keep him. I had lost my husband the one month previous and was not in the frame of mind to work with an aggressive dog. I returned him to the pound only to find that they never evaluated him! I lost money I couldn't afford and had to give up a dog I loved! I will not be so quick to adopt from the pound again.

My Dog's Adoption Story

Pablo was sweet an affectionate with me, and me alone. I fell for him immediately. Pablo and Gizmo mostly ignored each other but Pablo got along fine with my other animals. Until he started biting people I thought I had the perfect addition to my home.

Advice

  • My advice would be that you be absolutely sure about your new pet. Get a background story on it. Pablo was "dumped" over the fence at the pound so there was no history. Make sure that an thorough evaluation has been done on the animal. Save yourself a lot of heartache and money by making very sure of the animal you want to adopt.
