We suspect that Abbey lived outside for at least one winter. Even though we were feeding her well, she continued to hunt for a long time before she became accustomed to the food we provided.

Earl was probably our most severely abused. He was frightened of everything including himself when we first brought him home. He was especially fearful of large men. He always liked other dogs and kids, though.

We have taken Abbey and Pierre to Elderly Care homes, and we are considering Duke for certification as a Therapy Dog.

Although we enjoy mixed breeds, we have found that the shelters are also overcrowded with pure breed dogs as well. I recommend petfinder.com for those interested in what dogs are available near them.
