"I found Lucky in the mountains in Kentucky
He was chased in front of my car by coyotes. He had a broken leg and his ear torn half off and was starving. He was shot twice, once in head and once in rear end, and he had thousands of ticks. I never knew so many kinds of ticks existed.
I had driven 10 miles in the mountains to get a sandwich for myself, after I saw him run in front of my car he hid behind a pile of garbage and I got out to give him my sandwich. He ran so I got back in my car, threw it out and he ate it but ran whenever I tried to get out of my car.
So I went back to that spot on that gravel road that went 2 and a half miles straight up to only house there everyday. I went back and left food and everytime I got out he ran. The last day I was to be there I had to do something to get him to come to me. I had to go back to my house in Georgia and I could not leave him there to die from his many injuries and starvation, so i got a bag of those little powered donuts and i drove up that road throwing one out every so often."
