The link between animal cruelty and human violence is a very definite one. Studies of prison inmates showed that a whopping 75% of violent offenders were reported for animal cruelty in the earlier years! That is a scarey statistic!
In my own oppinion, anybody that intentionally hurts an animal, whether it is a wild animal, or a pet, does not have that far to fall before they start to intentionally other things that are defenseless against him. Like a wife, girlfriend, or heaven forbid, a child. It really is not that far a distance.
