There are several dog breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club that come in certain varieties, either size, coat, or even color. The Poodle, however, although it comes in three sizes, is judged in separate goups, as opposed to as a Variety judging within the same group, like the Beagles.
Color varieties, such as the American Cocker Spaniel, are judged in groups of colors: ASCOB (Any solid color other than black), black, and Parti (solid colors of two or more, and one must be white).
Dachshunds are judged on coat variety: wirehair, smooth, and longhair, and so are Chihuahuas (long coat and smooth).
