There has been some debate as to whether Jackson is really a mutt, but I think he is so read all about him...
Jackson is an 11-month old pointer mix. What he is mixed with, who knows? Probably blue heeler. He's a little on the chubby side (I think he eats some of Riley's food when we aren't looking) and a little on the lazy side (when he plays tug of war, he will sometimes lay down to be dragged across the hardwood floors). He adores everyone and everyone adores him.

Why did you choose him, if you choose him?
We were looking for a friend for our weimaraner. We needed a dog that could match her in size and personality, but wanted to get a homeless dog rather than another puppy from a breeder this time. I talked with rescue groups and visited the Humane Society website daily until I saw him...
Where is the best place to find a mixed breed dog?
Your local Humane Society is a good place. They often list on www.petfinder.org which also has dogs posted from a lot of the smaller shelters and rescue organizations.
Why would you recommend a mixed breed dog?
I don't know if I recommend one over the other, I just like the idea of adopting homeless dogs. You can get purbreds from shelters and rescue organizations too...
What is special about your dog?
Again, what isn't special about him? He is a really funny dog. He makes these amazing sounds while he is yawning that I just don't know how to describe. It kind of sounds like Chewbacca (Star Wars).
