We made the decision that we were ready to add a dog to our family. We found a dog at a local rescue center but had a bad experience because of misrepresentation. The search continued however. On the particular day that we were out and about, we skipped over this particular shelter - don't know why - no luck though throughout the day going place to place. On our way home late in the day, we remembered this town shelter (which we had driven right by earlier) and returned to the area and there she was.

She was a stray and not officially up for adoption yet having not completed the waiting period so we put our names on a list and 4 days later - she came home with us - Trinity! She's about 15 mos old and just lovable. She's a shepard mix - looks all shep - big ears and coloring - just not too big - about 40 lbs. She is a very quick learner and wants to be everyone's friend. Her ears are like radar and with the expression on her face - she's a laugh a minute.

We hate to think what could have happened to her had she not been rescued and had we not come along! What a loss it would have been.

How did you acquire your dog?

Visited the local humane societies.

Why did you choose her, if you choose her?

She kind of chose us - or maybe it was mutual. She was mixed breed/not long haired/great disposition/right size....

Where is the best place to find a mixed breed dog?

After our experience and that of family - town shelters.

Why would you recommend a mixed breed dog?

No "special" needs - breeding line ailments - problems specific to the breed - usually more even tempered - we've just always had great dogs in this setting.

What is special about your dog?

She's always willing to please, quick to learn, loving and very good companion.
