Puppy or Adult?
©2003 Krista Mifflin
How old was your dog when he came into your life? Did he come as a fluffy bundle of playfullness as a puppy? Or did he arrive with the dignity (or not, not mine anyway) of an adult dog?

If you haven't ever considered adopting an older dog, let me explain why older dogs are more than just bigger.

Adopting an oldder dog means that you can :
• Skip the "four in the morning" outside potty trips.
• Spend most of your time just enjoying your adult dog's companionship, without the hassles of puppy teething, nipping, and housebreaking.
• Not worry about extensive exercise and activity putting a strain on growing bones.
• Possibly not worry about training, other than occasional "reminders and reinforcement" as your older, adopted dog may be already trained.
Puppies are great fun, cute to love and hold, but they are also a lot of work.
When and if you think about adding a dog to your household, please remember to consider an older dog.

Puppy=Less than one year old
Adult=Over one year old
