Dear Love of my Life Smokey:
I knew the day would come when I would have to let you go but I think the time came about 6 years too soon. My Smokey was just 6 1/2 years old. Due to his terrier and doggy ways he loved to find ways to get out of my backyard. Yesterday morning Sept 4 proved to be a fatal get away. He was meandering around smelling other dogs markings, was coming back home cause he saw my son leaving to get on the school bus and got hit. The driver pulled over for a minute but then drove away. I held Smokey in my arms as he took his last breaths. I thought he was going into shock, but he was leaving this earth. I feel as though my heart will never mend, he was the coolest terrier-boy I ever met. I pray that you are well and just know the family you've watched over for 6.5 years is heart broken but will hopefully get better. ~ Donna, Haley and Justin |
