I guilted my parents into getting me Becky when I was 11 years old (hence her full name). We were told she was a pure bred keeshond, but she turned out to be pure bred mutt, part collie, keeshond, and who knows what else. Nonetheless, I thought she was beautiful and she quickly became my best friend. Becky was full of energy, goofiness, and love. She was quite a character, and so sweet. When we finally had to put her down 13 years later, I was so devastated, I couldn't mention her name without getting choked up for over a year. I still miss Becky, but I think she came back to me in the form of my new dog, Ember. Their quirky, funny personalities are so similar, that at times I go to call Ember "Becky", although they physically look nothing alike. I miss Miss Rebecca Fluff immensely, but I am grateful that I had many good years to share with such a wonderful best friend. ~ Heather |
