Lighting Up The Night With The Moose Dog
MooseDog (a.k.a. Kari, my testing dog) and I had a lot of fun with this collar. In the dark, out in the sun, under water, in the dense bush, I could see my goofy dog with no trouble at all. I really like this collar. I think I need two more, for my other dogs. Read more ...

What It Is
The Auroralites Pro Safety Collar is a soft, thin, flexible nylon collar, with a pouch attached to one end. It closes using heavy duty snaps, rather than a standard buckle, and at first glance, it looks like a normal, commonly seen collar with a reflective strip, with a small nylon bag attached.
Second glance reveals it to be much sturdier-made than your standard reflective collars, with three snaps, for adjusting length.
The nylon attached bag is the battery case, built for a light weight, not like the heavy battery packs on other powered collars. The battery pack houses a 9v battery, for long-lasting, water-proof use, and the lamp switch, a rubber-covered button, with enough room for small items like car keys, or dog identification. The lamp connections are also water-proofed.
The "reflective strip" is really a lamp, that lights up in it's entirety. A highly visible blue-ish green light illuminates for a good radius around the dog (I could see everything in a five by twelve foot room), and is easily visible at a distance.
The closure snaps are rust-proof, and secure, with three settings for fit adjustment. An extendable snap belt is available for larger, thick-necked dogs. The collar is available in sizes small, medium, large, and extra-large. The large size fit Kari comfortably.
Due to the slim fitting nature and design of this collar, there was nothing hanging, dangling, sticking out to catch on trees and shrubs. This collar is wide enough for comfort, soft enough for bend-ability, and strong enough to withstand Kari's "brother" Ozzy's attempts to remove the pretty light.
One thing they don't tell you ... is how turn the light on. It took a few minutes of intense inspection before I discovered that what I had thought was covered wires and electrical pieces was really a well-hidden on/off button. After it's location was discovered, the collar was easily turned on and off, even while still on the dog.
This collar literally outshines the rest out there, reflective collars, and flashing light-up collars together. The visibility and usefulness is just un-matchable. Good job Auroralites!

| Kari, proudly modeling his Auroralites Pro Safety Collar. He was very reluctant to hand it back over after though. The black nylon and brilliant white banding make this collar highly visible in daylight, on almost all dogs regardless of coat colour. With the lamp activated, the fluorescent green stands out like a black dog on a white canvas. |
