The Bottom Line

As far as bark-control goes, nothing else is going to be as fast a deterrent, but only when the collar is on the dog.
Pros
  • It works fast
  • It really works
  • Good for apartment dwellers - dire need situations
Cons
  • It's painful for the dog.
  • It goes off on anything
  • Batteries run out quickly

Description

  • An adjustable nylon collar with a shock box.
  • Prongs poke through to rest against the dog's neck and pick up voice vibrations.
  • A warning beep is issued, then a mild shock if barking continues.

Guide Review - RadioFence Bark Control Collar

Things to watch out for: any little vibration will give your dog a shock, which is shocking even at the lowest setting. Collar tags and buckles will set it off. The collar gives off a warning beep first, which is enough to quiet the dog once he's been zapped a few times. Best use would be, one day at the low setting, and cover the prongs (no shocks) forever-after.
