Question: 36. What Strange Habits does Your Dog Have? Chester, Bella, and Patches
Answer: "I have a 1 year old Airedale Terrier named Chester. He has serious co-ordination problems-namely when climbing stairs. He finds it completely impossible to stop or turn around once he has committed himself to a direction. My cat has become really smart and when not wanting to be bothered by the dog, he sits in the middle of the stairs. Chester will sit and whine at the bottom of the stairs for want of the cat. He Then tries to climb them to get to the cat but is unable to stop so he winds up sitting at the top of the stairs in the same predicament. Some times he will follow me even if I am just going half way up. He always has to climb the whole set of stairs before coming back down."
~ Marny
"My dog Bella likes to kill her dog food. I will take a handfull out of her bowl and roll it across the floor. She'll pounce on it and knock it about just like a cat with a mouse."
~ Pat
"Patches, our lovable mutt, cannot stand the sight of an empty food bowl. He will retrieve either his or our other mutt, Circe's, bowl and carry it over to the kiddie gate that divides "doggy space" and our kitchen. He'll drop the bowl with a "clunk!" and look at us forlornly. If we don't take the hint, he'll pick it up and drop it again and again! Sometimes he'll add to the act by pretending to look for food in the bowl, then looking at us in shock when he "finds" none. What a performer!"
