Answer: "My JRT, Starbaby's Aurora, call name "Rory" is a true Jack Russell --busy, comical and a great dog to know. She can whine/bark "Aurora" -- but she only does it well when I am ignoring her.If I ask her what her name is, she will look very serious and not even come close to saying it well. The best part when she does say her name is the last syllable "ra" almost sounds like a yawn.
If she wants to play and is still being ignored, she will roll onto her back, then growl and jerk her legs like she is having a seizure.
On an evening when I was feeling ill, I neglected to give Rory her dinner. My husband said that she did the previous two behaviors, but he thought she was conning him. The she took the towel I keep under her bowls and tugged it and the food bowl into the kitchen. She stopped when she got to the cabinet door where I keep her kibble. She then ran to my husband and back to the bowl servral times. He finally agreed to feed her. She did her "crawl on her belly like a reptile move and then wagged her tail while she ate."
