Introduction to Canine Mental Health

By

It's time to look at the importance of Canine Mental Health. A happy dog is a healthy dog.

Most pet owners simply assume that physical health is the only important thing to worry about until there are problems, but keeping a mentally healthy dog is very important for your dog's physical health as well. We'll be looking at different problems associated with mental health and how to help them.

Some of the topics scheduled are :

Depression
In this segment we will look at the common causes of Canine Depression, what it will look like, and how to help your pet deal with it.

Anxiety
There are a few different manifestations of Anxiety, and during this feature we will look at the most common of them, and work at turning your dog into the well-adjusted Canine Citizen you know he can be.

Aggression
Be it Fear Aggression, or Dominance Aggression, let's take a look at these and see what can be done to help your pet get over his moodiness.

Obsessive Compulsive Behaviors
Why do they do the things they do? And over and over and over again?

Physical Ailments
To top off the series, we'll take a look at the physical aspects of mental health issues. Sometimes mental and emotional troubles are mere symptoms of a deeper concern.

Dogs are incredible. If you pay attention to your pet, they always let you know something is wrong. There is no "false bravado" that you see in humans, where pretending not to feel pain is a big thing. Stick around and see if perhaps your pet has been trying to tell you something.
