Where's the "Inu"?:
The word "Inu" at the end of some breeds simply means "Dog" in Japanese. Akita Inu, Shiba Inu, Tosa Inu, are simply Akita Dog, Tosa Dog, and Shiba Dog. The actual breed name (ie: "Shiba") may have more than one meaning, so it is prudent to add the "Inu" at the end when referring to the dog.
