Vicktory to the Vick Pit Bulls!

Friday November 14, 2008

Most of us remember the disturbing case of ex-NFL star Michael Vick's dog fighting ring and the subsequent confiscation of the surviving Pit Bulls. Thousands of people have donated their time and money to rescue and rehabilitate the surviving dogs. I think it is safe to say that this story has touched the hearts of all of us dog lovers.

Now, there is a new way these dogs are being honored. The Vicktory Dogs Wine Collection features portraits of 22 dogs rescued for the dog fighting ring. The wines are available through the Dog Lovers Wine Club, and 10% of each sale goes to the Best Friends Animal Society.

I am so glad to see a happy ending to this tragic story. These dogs deserved better and fortunately they got it!

Vick faces more charges after his sentence is finished. There is a report, his attorneys are working to get him back into football.

He should be doing community work after his sentences are finished, educating about fighting dogs, (I doubt he is repentent) but to play again and give society the finger and make loads of money sends the wrong message

Put him in Jail and throw away the keys.Hwo is giong yo belive about a repentace for something like killing a dog because he is not a good fighter.
I do not and what I am certain is that he is going to be more careful for next time.A person that is so cruel can be an abusibe husband ,father ,or employer .
This tipe of personilities should be very well obseved in the future .

As an owner of two pit bulls, one being a rescue dog which was used as bait, this story is especially painful to me. Unfornately, it is not just about animal abuse, which in itself is disgusting. It is about another thug pro athelete, making bad choices, breaking the law, and hurting other people or in the case animals. When will it stop. The NFL needs to think long and hard before they even consider letting Vick back. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!! What would this being saying to young boys who idealize these atheletes. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!!

He should never be alloud back to fottbal again. People like him deserve to rot in jail forever. I work with human officers doing the jobs with them and people like this make me sick. The most rewarding thing is being able to help these dogs to a better life. To me though he should be treated just as he treated those dogs. He should have to endure everything he did to the dogs. This is such a horrible so called sport out there. With the help of people who turn them in hopefully we can stop this abuse.
