For some kids, this week was the first week of school. Others are in their second or third week. This transition can cause a lot of stress for kids and their parents, but have your ever thought about the toll it takes on the family dog? You can’t just tell poor little Max or Maggie what month it is and expect them to understand why their favorite kids are gone all of a sudden. This confusion could lead to depression and possibly worse.
Guest author Marian Brown offers tips for the canine back to school blues, including some holistic remedies. Is your dog down-in-the-dumps because school is back in session?

We are a homeschool family, so our dog loves September. All summer long Henry is forced to stay home while we go to the beach or other fun in the sun activities. When school starts, we are all home and I know he loves it.
My dog used to ride to school when I dropped off my daughter. Now that my daugher is driving my dog hates it. I have to take her for a ride every day if it is cool enough.
