Want to be Hollywood-bound with your dog?

Because you are a dog lover, you probably visit plenty of animal-related Web sites. Recently, I was made aware of a new site called MyPetCareTV. The idea is to provide client educational programming through this community-based Web site for pet owners and veterinary clinics. I think the idea has merit, but just be aware that they are still working out some kinks.

For example, I thought the video segments conducted by veterinarians, covering everything from canine dental care to dog nutrition, were quite solid with information, but even with my high-speed Internet connection, I found video playback to be choppy, which took away from the positive user experience. In addition to videos, there is a forum, a blog, and the ability to create member profiles.

Oh, and about that trip to Tinseltown. MyPetCareTV is offering a sweepstakes where one grand prize winner (and their pet) will be chosen, and receive a trip to Hollywood, an open casting call opportunity, dinner with Lassie's veterinarian, and access to dog sitting services during the trip.
