Take Your Dog to Work!
Could you actually take your dog to work? Tons of people will on Friday, June 20, 2008. Presented by Pet Sitters International, Take Your Dog to Work Day celebrates our dogs as companions and encourages everyone to consider adopting dogs from shelters or rescue organizations.
Now is the time to start gearing up your workplace for the big day! Talk to your boss and see if you and your coworkers can make some extra room for the dogs on Friday, June 20th. If your job is just not set up for this kind of thing, encourage friends and family to participate. Still want to be active for the cause? Anytime is a good time to begin volunteering with your local rescue group or animal shelter.

If my building allowed pets I would! My dogs are my kids and they have take your daughter/son to work days! Hmmm… kind of seems like straight marriage vs. gay marriage to me!
One way to encourage businesses to allow dogs is th ensure that the owners are prepared to take care of any problems that their pets may cause. This involves them be prepared at all times while with their pets. We suggest a product called the SmartWalk Manager. You may see the product at www.rgpetcomm.com .
Once you use the SmartWalk Manager you begin wonder how you ever did without it.
Good luck to responsible dog owners…
I have been taking my dog everywhere since I got her (over 4 yrs ago)minus a few weeks. One or two tried to get me to leave her home. In the end I would quit or they would let it go. Makes work not work. Since I do outside sales/mktg; we cruise outside. If I go in the office; sometimes she comes in and sometimes she stays in my car. All windows down all the way in the shade. It makes working a different kind of animal. Get it!
I had to get permission from the head office (we were recently bought by a larger company) and they said no way. They were afraid of the liabilty. But as someone stated they have take your kid day. I’m a certified dog trainer and my dogs are better behaved then some of the kids that were here for kid day.
Oh well. Will try again next. I even suggested some of the other activities that PSI recommended and they still said no.
